Areas of utilization

• Aggregates for asphalt – its strength, colour and toughness makes it well suited as an asphalt aggregate.

• Aggregates for concrete – it`s beautiful grey/bluish and dark grey/black colours in addition to the crystallized effect of the Larvikit makes it popular for facade purposes. Being environmental neutral and non alkali-reactiv makes it well suited for concrete purposes.

• Coastal protection – due to its colour and strength Larvikite is being used for coastal protection and building of quays and moles. The boulders are being produced from leftovers of façade blocks, without exposition of blasting.

• Courtyards – Larvikite is well graded in all sizes combined with its attractive colours and crystallized effect makes it suited for use in yards and drives.

• Sport arenaes – due to its colour and characteristics Larvikite is well suited for use at trotting tracks, track and field arenas, football fields, racing tracks, tennis courts and golf courses.

• Road construction – as a 100 % crushed material with considerable strength, the stone functions excellent for sub-base and base layer purposes.  Larvikite is hardly influenced by changes of temperature or frost. Due to this it is also well suited for use in frost securing layers.
